Dungeness Road

Hello all.

I have been accused of ‘swanning around’ from time to time but today I came face to face with an actual Swan that was swanning around on the Dungeness Road having mistaken the tarmac for a strip of water, poor thing!

Anyway the reason for my message is to say thank you to the chap who first alerted me to it as I was on my way to deal with something else, thank you to all the motorists who were patient and waited for one of his Majesty's creatures to be rescued and lastly to the Swan ‘whisperer’ chap who used my yellow reflective police coat to throw over the Swan and then lifted it over the fence to safety!

I have since had a message passed to the RSPB at Dungeness to make them aware in case the Swan shows signs of injury.

Cue the ‘Hot Fuzz’ jokes!
